Version 1.10 LANPop 07/12/1992
LANPop is a 19.5k TSR program that replaces LANTastic's pop-up message
handler. LANPop provides the same functionality as LANTastic's pop-up message
handler with one added advantage: you can send back a reply to message with no
extra effort at all.
When LANPop is installed, if a message is received, it is displayed on the
screen as usual. If you do not wish to send a reply, simply press the Esc key.
If you want to send the reply, simply press the R key, type in your reply, and
press the Enter key to send the reply, or press the Esc key to cancel the
reply.
RUNNING LANPOP
==============
LANPop supports the use of a configuration file to contain commonly used
command line options. The configuration file is a text file with each command
line option (including the / or -) on a seperate line. The file must be in
the same directory that LANPOP.EXE is in, and should be named LANPOP.CFG.
The file can be created by any editor that can save files in pure ASCII such
as PC-Write, or the editor included in MS-DOS v5.00. Any options used on the
command line override options found in the configuration file.
To run LANPop type:
LANPOP [/S:{MESSAGE_SERVER}] [/D:#####] [/L:##]
LANPop will prefix all messages it sends with your user name. The /S
parameter specifies the MESSAGE_SERVER to determine your login name from. If
you are using the LANMail program, this would be the server specified with the
/P parameter.
The /D parameter specifies the number of seconds the popup message should
remain on the screen. This number can range from 1 second to 65535 seconds
(18.2 hours). If the /D parameter is omitted, LANPop defaults to 300 seconds.
The /L paramter specifies the line number the popup message is to be
displayed on. This number can range from 1 to 22. If the /L parameter is
omitted, LANPop defaults to displaying on line 10.

VERSION HISTORY
===============
Version Changes
-------- ----------------------------------------------------------------
1.00 * Initial release to public
This is an "unpolished" release.
1.10 * Added the /D and /L parameters.
* LANPop now supports a configuration file named LANPOP.CFG for
all command line arguements. LANPop looks for this file in the
same directory as LANPOP.EXE. The configuration file is a text
file with one command line option per line. Note: you must
still use the / or - just as if you were at the command line.
